Clermont-Ferrand, ARA Citizen's Convention gets residents involved in the policy-making process
Clermont-Ferrand, ARA participatory democracy policy-making
In Progress
The City of Clermont-Ferrand launched the Citizen's Convention to improve participatory democracy by including residents in the policy-making process. The Citizen's Convention randomly selects 80 residents to constitute a representative panel of the city's population. The panel formulates policy proposals and concrete measures to improve the lives of residents by addressing ecological, democratic, and social challenges. After five months, the recommendations are submitted to a citizen vote.
