Dallas, TX partners with Texas Retailers Association to address the issue of food deserts
Dallas, TX retailer incentives for food deserts
The Dallas City Council is working with consultants from the Texas Retailers Association to address the issues preventing grocery stores from opening in southern Dallas food deserts. The consultants suggested that the city reduce planning and zoning hurdles for grocery store owners and eliminate some of the fees levied on grocery stores. The City Council will use this feedback to create a plan to attract quality grocers to the southern Dallas area later this year.
