Drummondville, QC implements first participatory budgeting process for public projects
Drummondville, QC Public Participatory Budgeting Process
In Progress
Residents learned what projects qualify for the public ballot during four virtual workshops. City officials reviewed proposals and worked with applicants to refine their ideas. Qualifying projects require up to $300,000 CAD in initial funding, operate for at least three years, and can be implemented within two years of approval. Every Drummondville resident aged 12 and older will cast online ballots to award up to $450,000 CAD for the most popular projects.
