Glasgow City Council, GB approves over 40 new e-bike stations amid record demand

In Progress

Glasgow has approved more than 40 new Voi e-bike stations, significantly expanding both on-hire and off-hire capacity at busy locations across the city. The expansion comes in response to record demand for the cycle hire scheme, which has already surpassed 282,000 rides since its launch in November 2025. The new stations will initially operate as geo-fenced virtual locations for rapid deployment, with physical markings to be installed over the coming weeks.
