Gold Coast, QLD Mobile CCTV Unit Reckless Driving Response

In Progress

Gold Coast found that 45% of public requests for CCTV coverage were related to reckless driving or hooning. Council officials and the Queensland Police Service assign the unit to streets with recent hooning complaints. The CCTV unit contains six high-resolution cameras with license recognition software that function in limited light. The six-month pilot captures video not available elsewhere in the city's 700-camera network.
