Gold Coast, QLD Autonomous Smart Shuttle Trial Main Beach

An EasyMile autonomous shuttle operates on a 2.4-kilometer route centered on Main Beach. The six-passenger vehicle travels up to 18 kilometers per hour and serves seven stops. Commuters can ride the Smart Shuttle for free every day from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm through December 2022. Safety measures include roadside signage indicating the pilot area and an onboard operator. Gold Coast and the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) will compare pilot results with previous RACQ trials.

Gold Coast Smart Shuttle Trial – Main Beach | City of Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Smart Shuttle Trial will test autonomous vehicle (AV) technology on the Gold Coast. The trial is a joint initiative between the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) and City of Gold Coast with the support of the vehicle manufacturer EasyMile.
