Greenville, SC lays the foundation for future transportation with Smart City Infrastructure project
Greenville, SC Smart City Infrastructure Project Future
Greenville worked with Sprint to incorporate the Curiosity IoT network into a 2.5-mile stretch of streetlights. The city saves money on lighting costs while ensuring resident safety using controllable LED fixtures. Multipurpose light poles on Fairforest Way feature footfall sensors, video cameras, and room for additional IoT equipment. This 5G-enabled network has the potential to adjust traffic lights, control autonomous vehicles, and communicate safety issues to drivers.
