Hartford is implementing AI-powered translation services to enhance civic engagement by providing real-time translation in up to 80 languages at public meetings The initiative, supported by a partnership with Google Public Sector, integrates Google Cloud Translation AI into the city’s 311 services to facilitate communication with residents in multiple languages. The Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement is exploring further expansion of these services to improve 311 request processing.
