Ingham County, MI upgrades 911 central dispatch system
Ingham County 911 Central Dispatch is upgrading its system by utilizing Rapid SOS software and the "what3words" application to pinpoint the location of callers. The Rapid SOS software supplies emergency responders with more specific caller location information than cell phone providers. The "what3words" application divides the world into 10 feet by 10 feet square areas and assigns each area three specific words so callers can share their three words location via GPS services on their phone.
