Leeds City Council partnered with West Yorkshire Police to launch Operation Supporting Partnership Action to Reduce Road Casualties (SPARC). The SPARC traffic enforcement programme deployed policing units to patrol the city specifically monitoring dangerous driving behaviors. The programme targets drivers who are speeding, using mobile devices, or suspected to be under the influence. The goal of the program is make local roads safer and to support the Neighbourhood Policing Teams initiative.
