Leicester City Council, GB partners with Clear Channel to create network of ecological bus shelters
Leicester City Council, GB ecological bus shelters
Leicester City Council is partnering with Clear Channel to create a citywide network of ecological bus shelters to combat climate change. The city is installing and planting 30 living roof and solar-powered shelters. These "Bee Bus Stops" are planted with a mix of wildflowers and Sedum plans to attract pollinating insects. The shelters will promote biodiversity, improve climate resilience, absorb rainwater, and reduce the “urban heat island” effect by capturing harmful particulates from the air.
