Memphis offers self-testing kits to public workers and family members who don't exhibit active COVID-19 symptoms. Each volunteer is evaluated in their typical work environment rather than a clinical environment. Frequent testing of participants produces comprehensive data about the transmission of COVID-19 at a departmental level. The mayor's office initiated the program to meet an initial goal of 30,000 tests per day regardless of symptoms.
