Monash, VIC tests smart city technology in real-world environment with i-Sense Oakleigh pilot
Monash, VIC i-Sense Oakleigh Smart City Technology Pilot
City departments and Monash University added smart lights to Atherton Road that act as smart asset hubs. These lights contain sensors that monitor air quality, temperature, and foot traffic. Wi-Fi built into the lights connects waste management personnel to the latest data from smart bins. Monash uses the TST Smart City platform from Traffic Technologies to manage data streams. A successful pilot could lead to adoption in other areas and additional features like smart parking.
