Raleigh designed and released a mobile app that allows residents to report various types of litter that they spot downtown. The app then uploads the information to a central database where city officials can see the type of waste and where it was located.
Project Succeeded
The city has been able to use the data to find litter hotspots downtown. They have installed cigarette urns, waste stations, and other measures to help combat litter as a result of their findings.
