Rambouillet, IDF bioluminescent bacteria street lighting
The Town of Rambouillet is partnering with start-up company Glowee to test the effectiveness of bioluminescent street lighting. Through this partnership, the town is illuminating the streets with a unique ambiance of biodiversity while also offering an energy-efficient sustainable alternative to traditional light bulbs. The street lighting is provided by simply storing the bioluminescent marine bacterium Aliivibrio fischeri in saltwater-filled tubes.
