The Municipality of Smallingerland has started offering residents the option to renew their driving license online. Residents simply need to have their photo taken by a photographer or photo booth recognized by the The Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW) location guide. Two business days after submitting an application along with the photo to the RDW website and passing the DigiD mobile app identity check, residents can pick up their renewed driving license directly at the town hall.
