Stirling, WA prioritizes bike and foot traffic with Moorland Street Bicycle Boulevard

Stirling, WA Moorland Street Bicycle Boulevard

Complete

A four-kilometer route from Scarborough Beach to Stirling City Centre provides an uninterrupted route for cyclists and pedestrians. City planners selected Moorland Street because of its proximity to busier streets and limited vehicle traffic. The bicycle boulevard separates cyclists and pedestrians from motorists except at the endpoints. Shared spaces use reduced speeds, raised intersections, and signage to place bikes ahead of other traffic.
