Tempe, AZ Police Department partners with Solari Crisis for mental health responses to 911 calls

Tempe, AZ 911 calls mental health response

In Progress

The Tempe City Council approved a $75,000 one-year agreement between Solari Crisis and the Police Department to direct some 911 calls to mental health workers instead of police officers. The plan involves training 911 dispatchers and police officers on how to respond to mental health calls. If police are not required on a particular 911 call, dispatchers will connect the caller with a Solari Crisis mental health expert.
