Washington, DC pilot mobile app compost tracking

In Progress

In 2019, the city began piloting a mobile app designed to track the volume of material being composted at its community cooperative composting sites. The app also allowed the city to establish personal and site-specific rankings for the most productive participants. The pilot project was discontinued due to budget constraints resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The city intends to restart the pilot after the constraints are lifted.
