Whyalla, SA New Jetty Foot Traffic Distancing Smart Devices

In Progress

The Whyalla Jetty People Counting Project incorporates three tracking devices that gather real-time data on pedestrian traffic. A bio-directional radar tracker and two wi-fi proximity detectors collect data from the jetty's entrance, center, and platform. Council officials worked with partners Opensensing and SimplyCity to move from concept to implementation in two months. The project fits into existing smart city projects in Adelaide's The Things Network.
