The Municipality of Alkmaar is conducting the "Living Together" pilot which involves placing smart sensors in the homes of seniors. The sensors are installed for free including smoke detectors, a panic button, a motion detector, and door sensors. These sensors warn family members, friends, and neighbors if there is an emergency. The pilot was created to support seniors living independently.
