The scheme offers vouchers up to £1,000 per participant redeemable at city-approved vendors. Project leaders recruited more than 100 local vendors specializing in areas from accountancy to social media management. This arrangement allows participating businesses to expand their reach and connect with local partners. The City of York Council operated a similar program early in the COVID-19 pandemic that supported more than 1,000 sole proprietors and small businesses.
