Columbia County's lead Economic Development Agency, The Port of Columbia, is bringing high-speed broadband internet to every household in the city of Dayton and surrounding areas. The Port of Columbia entered into an agreement with Pacific Corp. to allow a network of 231,000 feet of fiber optic cables to be connected across power poles in the area. The Port of Columbia has hired the company Zero dB to plan the construction efforts and the designs should be ready by the end of July.
