Douglas, QLD seeks patron assistance with beach erosion research through CoastSnap partnership

Douglas, QLD CoastSnap Beach Patron Assistance Erosion

In Progress

Shire officials worked with the state-funded program to install phone docks at five beachfront locations. A beachgoer places their phone into the dock, takes photos, and uploads to the CoastSnap mobile app. CoastSnap and Douglas will use time-lapse photography to evaluate the pace and severity of environmental changes. Crowdsourced photos of tidal changes and erosion from fixed locations assist with beachfront recovery programs.
