Kamloops, BC initiates Researcher-in-Residence pilot to turn academic research into new programs
Kamloops, BC Researcher-in-Residence New Program Pilot
In Progress
The city and Thompsons Rivers University (TRU) appoint a post-doctoral researcher for the three-year pilot. This researcher and a team of interns conduct workshops about community life. Resident feedback and departmental collaborations are filtered through academic research to address areas like public health and social equity. The Researcher-in-Residence may recommend code changes, additional pilots, and public partnerships to improve governance.
