Leicestershire County Council, GB uses pop-up cycling lanes for safe travels during COVID-19

Leicestershire County Council, GB Pop-Up Cycling Lanes COVID

Complete

County officials approved new lanes at four locations for the eight-week pilot. Temporary lanes for cycling and walking were created by removing islands, adding temporary signals, and restricting vehicle turns. Park and Pedal shelters at council lots provided 24-hour bike parking. The council also produced a transit-style map of pop-up lanes for easy public use. County residents were encouraged to suggest additional locations for temporary lanes.
