Marion County, MO rural broadband connectivity
Planning
The Marion County Commission has pledged $1 million in American Rescue Plan funds to expand broadband internet in rural areas. The county made the pledge after reviewing maps presented by Chariton Valley, a telecommunications services company, highlighting areas of the county that currently do not have internet service. Chariton Valley estimates that it would cost $3.9 million to provide 1GB service to those areas and agreed to match the dollar amount of any contribution made by the county.
