Newcastle upon Tyne City Council launched a virtual Christmas gift market to support local independent businesses. The virtual market provided a socially distanced shopping experience during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Shopper were able to purchase gift vouchers from over 50 local businesses. The market allowed residents to acquire unique gifts for loved ones while also supporting the struggling tourism and hospitality industry.
