Nova Iguaçu, RJ Maria da Penha Patrol domestic violence

Complete

The Municipality of Nova Iguaçu created the Maria da Penha Municipal Patrol to accompany female victims of domestic violence who have received urgent protective measures from the Court. A pair of police officers, always one man and one woman, patrol the city on Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm in a Maria da Penha Patrol vehicle easily identified by a large purple stripe. The officers use an online reporting database to target locations with the highest incidence of domestic violence.
