Piedmont, CA automated license plate recognition cameras
The Piedmont Police Department partnered with Flock Safety to deploy 50 cameras with automated license plate recognition (ALPR) technology in strategic locations. The cameras scan for license plate numbers when a vehicle has been used in a crime or the vehicle was stolen. When the cameras locate a specific license plate they automatically provide dispatch, local deputies, and police detectives with real-time location data.
