Tallahassee, FL Public Safety App Residents Police

The city's Technology and Innovation Department worked with More than a Name and police officials on the first-of-its-kind app. Tallahassee Bystander allows users to activate their mobile device cameras using voice commands. Recorded audio and video are sent to three user contacts as well as a police department accountability portal. The app prevents the editing of potential evidence and anonymizes data to protect witnesses during follow-up investigations.
