Valladolid, CL Public Wi-Fi Infrastructure Connected

City officials installed free hotspots across 41 public buildings in 2017. A 1.1 million euro upgrade will install equipment that works better with fiber-optic lines. This project also adds Wi-Fi connectivity to areas not covered by the original network. Valladolid asked residents for location suggestions during a previous participatory budgeting round. This three-year project will increase productivity by city departments and reduce barriers to information for the general public.
