Austin, TX "Watson" IBM virtual assistant for COVID-19
The City of Austin deployed IBM's "Watson Assistant for Citizens" to provide COVID-19 information to residents. Currently in phase one of deployment, this artificial intelligence operates as a virtual chat bot on the city's website. Residents can engage Watson with interactive conversation about medical questions, school closings, or unemployment. In phase two, the city's chief technology officers plans to add a microphone function so residents can actually speak to the virtual assistant.
