Austin, TX suspends utility disconnects during pandemic

In Progress

The City of Austin has suspended all utility disconnects for non-payment to promote public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents can be placed on a deferred payment plan tailored to meet their financial needs with uninterrupted access to utilities. Residents with limited income or medical vulnerabilities are eligible to receive immediate utility bill assistance. However, residents with the ability to do so are encouraged to stay current with their utility payments.
