City officials placed the $20 million bond in front of local voters. This first-in-the-nation effort proposes grid upgrades for dynamic pricing and increased electric vehicle charging. The Burlington Electric Department plans targeted grants to local households for air-source heat pumps and electric bikes. The Net Zero Energy Revenue Bond reduces emissions by an estimated 47,000 tons without increased taxes or fees.
