The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department has implemented an Early Intervention System to flag police officers. The system tracks more than 1100 factors to identify officers who could cause a problem. The system recommends training, counseling, or programs for officers.

The project has been working for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department. When the article was posted the system flagged 27 officers. Ten of them required no intervention, 15 needed counseling, seven needed additional training and one employee had to go through an assistance program.
