Köln, NW Geofencing Speed Limit Control System trial
The cities of Köln and Aachen partnered with Ford to launch a Geofencing Speed Limit Control System pilot program. During the 12-month trial, all-electric Ford E-Transit vans are connected to the geofencing system for GPS tracking and data exchange. The drivers receive information via the dashboard display cluster and the vehicles automatically reduce speed in accordance with the speed limit within the geofenced zone. The driver can override the system and deactivate the limit at any time.
