Launceston, SA turns years of LiDAR scans of city center into a Minecraft world
Launceston, SA Minecraft World LiDAR City Center
City staff produce three-dimensional models of development projects from LiDAR data. Multiple years of scans were translated into data for a Minecraft version of downtown Launceston. An initial version of the world was used during school visits to highlight the possibilities of city planning. Users of the Java and Education editions of the game can add, subtract, or change local streets and attractions like UTAS Stadium.
