The Los Angeles County's Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to end oil/gas drilling and phase out existing drilling infrastructure. The decision was made primarily over concerns with community health problems associated with proximity to oil drill sites. Supervisors also considered other issues including the degree to which people of color are disproportionately impacted by these health issues and the ongoing and escalating climate crisis.
