Parramatta, NSW Smart Planning Project Impacts Construction
The city installed 70 climate sensors throughout a 25-hectare residential development in Melrose Park. These sensors measure factors ranging from UV index to noise levels. A buoy stationed in Parramatta River evaluates water quality levels. Council officials created a community dashboard to track current and historical data from sensors. Parramatta will use the first-of-its-kind project in Australia as a blueprint for future eco-friendly projects.
