In Progress

The City of Richmond launched a Food Recovery Network to reduce food waste and address food insecurity. The program was designed in a partnership with FoodMesh a local organization which targets the issue of food waste. The online network connects businesses, charities, and farmers with surplus food, kitchen equipment, and packing to organizations that can use it. The goal of the program is to reduce 225,000 kg food waste and create 300,000 meals for residents experiencing food insecurity.
