Uppsala, SE maps long-term sustainable development of southeastern districts with digital twin
Uppsala, SE Southeastern Districts Development Digital Twin
Uppsala will integrate 33,000 new housing units into forested land and natural habitats by 2050. Municipal planners sought an alternative to spreadsheets and documents for cross-department collaboration. ArcGIS Urban produced a 3D model of the proposed development using existing maps and digital elevation readings from LiDAR scanners. This model allows project leaders and residents to simulate how Uppsala can complete this long-term project while adjusting to feedback in the interim.
