Vaughan, ON SmartParks Simplifies Patron Access Services
QR codes are installed at five parks during the pilot. Officials focused on restroom entrances and park gates as code locations due to frequent usage. Visitors scan the codes to reserve soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and picnic areas. The SmartParks system accepts user reports of graffiti, littering, and hornet nests. The Parks Operations team also responds to requests for field and facility maintenance. This pilot complements the Play Vaughan Local initiative for increased park usage.
