Derby City Council, GB E-Bike Sharing Program Ends

Complete

The city's partnership with Hourbike and the University of Derby yielded 7,000 rides and 150,000 miles covered in its first year. Acts of vandalism disabled two-thirds of the e-bike fleet in the spring of 2019, leading to the program's closure. E-bike repairs proved too expensive to sustain the program. City and university officials are evaluating data from this experience to inform future bike-sharing efforts.
