Ottawa, ON Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Downtown Mobility
The city approved trials of Bird Canada, Lime, and Roll e-scooters that ran from July 2020 to October 2020. Each operator geofenced their scooters to limit pickups in overlapping areas of downtown Ontario. Scooter users were limited to speeds up to 24 kilometers per hour and required to park scooters near street furniture. City officials required operators to sanitize scooters twice per day and included COVID-19 information in their apps.

Council approved a pilot project for the City of Ottawa to allow electric scooters to operate in Ottawa until the end of October. Under the plan, the city would allow rental companies to rent out 600 e-scooters.
