Council leaders created the program to leverage natural resources for low-emission energy projects. Project partners receive access to land and other council assets in exchange for funding necessary infrastructure. BE Power's pumped hydro energy battery and a floating solar system from EPC Technologies were approved for the program. These projects leave minimal carbon footprints as they produce and store electricity for community use.
