Austin, TX PurpleAir monitors in public schools
The city of Austin's Office of Sustainability is partnering with the Austin Independent School District and the Clean Air Force of Central Texas non-profit to install PurpleAir monitors in 10 public schools. The PurpleAir monitors measure inhalable particles of pollution caused by combustion, dust, and smoke. The city will use the PurpleAir monitors along with regulatory sensors to create a localized network that identifies and maps changes in air quality neighborhood by neighborhood.
