Greater Geelong, VIC Weather Together Citizen Science
In Progress
Council officials introduced Weather Together to assist the national Bureau of Meteorology with hyperlocal forecasting. Greater Geelong recruited volunteers to host climate sensors on their properties during the one-year pilot. Initial participants built their own sensors at an Internet of Things Kickstarter event. The low-cost sensors feed temperature, wind, and humidity data into the Geelong Data Exchange via the Things Network Geelong.
