Hamilton, ON Public Connectivity Outdoor Wi-Fi Pilot
Hamilton sought a complementary outdoor system to the 76 public Wi-Fi points in indoor facilities. Local officials received a grant from the Canada Healthy Communities Initiative for adapting public spaces in response to COVID-19. Three city parks were outfitted with network equipment by March 2022. Residents find outdoor Wi-Fi points by searching the online Park Finder map. The city will select seven additional parks for the pilot based on user surveys and feasibility studies.
