Waikato Regional Council, NZ free COVID-19 phone service

Waikato Regional Council's Civil Defence Emergency Management Group established a free phone service to help local residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The service was designed for residents struggling to obtain necessary resources including food, groceries, medication, etc. The free phone service is available to all residents from 7am to 7pm every day. The phone service staff use the information provided by callers to prioritise and coordinate the welfare support teams.
